It's the NEW Week at a Glance (WAAG)!!

Happy New Year to our business members and our member contacts!!  If you received this email, your business is a member and you are listed as a contact.  I want to introduce to you to our NEW Week at a Glance weekly email.  Our old WAAG limited our content to a single page carried over from our old Weekly Fax days.  We also sent it as a PDF.  This new format provides two avenues to communicate to the membership making it convenient to program events into your calendar and easier to read and find the items that matter most to you.

We hope you have a very successful 2015!!  We've got many new updates coming down the line to strengthen our local communities.  The chamber has also opportunities to serve on a variety of committee leadership teams.
  1. Week at a Glance (WAAG) emails occur on Wednesdays and includes information on upcoming chamber events for the next week and ahead.
  2. Member Mondays (MM) emails occur on Mondays and will include information and promotions from you, our members including a relaunch of the Member Marketplace, Job Board and Benefits-365(tm).  Simply send your 1-paragraph content and graphic to chamber@thebizalliance.org.  (See our help page on sending graphics to the chamber)
Q: Who receives the WAAG and MM?
A: Our members.  You can unsubscribe by clicking on the Unsubscribe link at the bottom, (I hope you don't) but you won't receive any email communications from the chamber that may help your business grow, reduce expenses or gain additional business knowledge.  New members will be subscribed and dropped members will be automatically unsubscribed.  These emails remain a member benefit.

New Email addresses:
With our recent name change (and the new year), we will start employing new email addresses.  Don't worry, sending emails to @chamberwest.org or @eastvalleychamber.org will still arrive at the office for a few more months.

Please update your address book with our new contact emails:

The Exciting End of 2014 and Great Things for 2015!

First, thank you for being a member of our organization that provides its members the ability to follow their business wherever it takes you.  Secondly, I want to wish you and your organization a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

2014 is winding down with just about 10 days to go.  It started with a legislative session that introduced bills such as SB54 which provides changes to the caucus system...and SB54 is still in the news at the end of 2014.  Oil prices are down sharply with gas nearing $2/gallon in some places.  This is now having an impact on the inflation of finished goods...with a decrease.

Our communities have had and will continue to have our share of road projects and their associated impacts.  Meanwhile, the chamber has had a wonderful 2014 and looking for an exciting 2015.  I hope you will budget your membership dues to continue with us.  Just a summary of our activities include:
  • Six Business Matters Luncheons with approx. 100 people at each one.
  • Eight Lunch & Learn meetings on a variety of topics such as Building a Foundation for Success, Changes with Windows XP (end of life), Goldman-Sachs 10,000 Small Business program, Human Resource Foundations, and more.
  • Nine Women in Business meetings including a county-wide Spring into Success Women's Conference and Silent Hero Luncheon.
  • 30+ PiNG networking lunches with many qualified referrals shared with members!
  • 11 Government Action Committee meetings discussing UTOPIA to transportation, the ThrU-Turn, CFI (Continuous Flow Intersections)...with more projects being planned in all four communities.
  • 400+ membership certificates delivered by our Ambassadors.
  • 46 ribbon cutting events for both members and non-members.
  • Countless Certificate of Origin endorsements for businesses who export their products around the world.
  • 76 new members in 2014.
  • Launch of our Young Entrepreneurs Academy within Granite School District.
  • Enhancements to our Leadership Institute training program for business leaders.
  • Additional Benefits in our Benefits-365(tm) program.
Year End Items:
If you are planning on renewing your membership or have a chamber invoice you haven't quite got to yet, now is the time to renew your membership and pay any outstanding invoices so they can apply for the 2014 tax year.  Your membership helps make a difference in our communities as noted above.  You can mail your payment to the office or pay conveniently and securely online at www.chamberwest.org/payment.  Please check with your accountant for proper recording of chamber dues and investments.
